All I remember reading in the description was Get Out meets The Devil Wears Prada. I instantly knew this book had to be on my upcoming books radar. Plus this cover is a attention grabber! The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris is about twenty six year old editorial assistant, Nella Rogers. Nella is tired of being the only Black employee at Wagner Books but that all changes when Hazel starts working there. They start out on a great path for friendship but soon Hazel becomes the office darling. Leaving Nella in the cold and then the threatening notes start showing up. Someone wants Nella gone and it has to be Hazel...right?

Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres and I cannot wait to read about a historical Black jazz club. Wild Women and The Blues takes place in 1925 and 2015.
